In the second quarter, the Chinese EV manufacturer BYD reported yet another strong month and quarter of growth.

251,685 electrified passenger vehicles were sold in June, according to BYD.

That indicates that BYD sold more than 700,000 EVs during the second quarter.

On Monday, BYD stock increased 4.5% in Hong Kong trade.

The S&P 500 was down around 0.2% while Tesla stock was up roughly 6.8% in early trade on Monday.

About 0.2% was added to the Nasdaq Composite.

Both all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles are offered for sale by BYD.

In comparison to previous year, BYD sold more than 90% more battery-electric cars (BEVs) during the quarter, or around 350,000 BEVs.
