President Biden is a strong advocate for the wider use of electric vehicles.

A rule was suggested by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

In the United States, two-thirds of new passenger cars and 25% of new heavy trucks will be 100% electric.

To put things into perspective, this would be a significant rise.

According to The New York Times, less than 2% of new cars and less than 2% of trucks sold in 2022 will be all-electric.

Environmentalists have applauded the Biden administration's lofty aspirations for an all-electric vehicle future.

The auto industry as a whole has been significantly more hesitant, if not outright critical.

It is concerned about producing that many all-electric vehicles in such a short period of time.
