On the VFACTS new car sales charts, Tesla has displaced the Ford Ranger from second place.

With 5560 deliveries in June 2023, the Model Y came in second place behind the Toyota HiLux in terms of sales in Australia.

However, with 14,002 deliveries for the Model Y and 26,741 for the Ford so far this year, the Model Y is currently in second place.

With 25,577 deliveries, the strong month assisted Tesla in climbing to eighth place on the year-to-date sales charts.

 It is positioned just behind MG and behind Subaru and Volkswagen.

Tesla has been the primary factor in Australia's explosive growth in electric vehicle sales.

Local electric vehicle sales have been significantly boosted by newcomer BYD and Tesla.

It has so far delivered 6196 vehicles in 2023, all of which are Atto 3 SUVs.
