For an unnamed hypercar, UK electric motor maker Helix has created a new low-inductance motor.

It produces just around 872 horsepower continuously.

The sole external name for this hypercar motor project is REB.

The company's most potent pure electric battery electric car motor to date was developed by its X-Division.

The SPX177 motor, which is tremendously powerful, weighs just 62 pounds without the inverter.

compared to internal combustion engines with high boost levels, such the McLaren Artura's.

For similar continuous power production, this electric motor weighs less than one-seventh as much.

The SPX177 from Helix serves as a reminder that motors are still developing.
